Advance Placement High School Curriculum Resources

The Internet

Description

Reliable Internet access is highly desirable for the implementation of this curriculum, however it is not absolutely necessary.

Teacher's Guide

The most reliable connection to the Internet is through a dialup phone line, and a local Internet provider. Even in academic environments with "built-in" access, a reliable dialup Internet account, is a must when the "built-in" Internet access functions slowly, intermittently or not at all and on-site technical support is an actuality, an oxymoron.

Recommendation for the 2000-2001 Academic Year

Maui Media Lab recommends that you contact your local Internet Service Provider business. Most local ISPs will provide a fast and reliable Internet connection to a school teacher FREE OF CHARGE.

We Recommend that you use an Apple Airport Basestation that allows you to share a single dialup internet connection with all wired and wireless computers in your classroom at the same time.
